【Visitors in February】The delegations of MIT “Innovation Discovery Japan” and Minister of Science and Technology of Thailand (MOST) and National Nanotechnology Center visited iCONM.

On Friday, February 2, under the aim of delivering Japan’s technology to the world, a students’ delegation of MIT study tour “Innovation Discovery Japan” visited iCONM.

After Prof. Kimura, COINS Project Leader, explained the medical innovation in Japan, Prof. Kataoka, iCONM Director General, gave an outline on research conducted at iCONM and COINS.

In lab. Tour, Dr. Quader, senior research scientist, showed the delegation the equipment and facilities in the center. There were very active discussions during the tour.

Moreover, after the session at iCONM, Mr. Naito from Nanocarrier gave a talk on company profile.

Everybody listened with enthusiasm and a question and answer session was actively made.

On Friday, February 16, a delegation led by Dr. Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Science and Technology of Thailand, Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, President of National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and Dr. Wannee Chinsirikul, Executive Director of National Nanotechnology Center visited iCONM related to their trip to Japan to participate “nano tech 2018”.

First, Mr. Atsushi Miura, Deputy Mayor of Kawasaki-city made a welcome speech and Prof. Kazunori Kataoka, Director General of iCONM gave an outline of research conducted at iCONM.

Moreover, Dr. Horacio Cabral, visiting researcher, introduced his current research and a lab. tour was organized afterwards.

Finally, Dr. Chinsirilul gave outline of NNOTEC in Thailand and proposed a future collaboration and exchange of researchers. The visit was very productive and promising towards a future cooperation.
