On August 21, Mr. Takuya HIRAI（Minister in charge of Information Technology Policy, "Cool Japan" Strategy, the Intellectual Property Strategy, Science and Technology Policy, Space Policy）visited King SkyFront.
After an overview given by Kawasaki City, the representatives from the Center of Innovation (COI) Program, Research Complex Promotion Program and Regional Innovation Ecosystem Formation Program had an opportunity to exchange their opinions. Mr. Jun Miura, Director of Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion, Dr. Hiromichi Kimura, COINS Project Leader, Mr. Hirokazu Iwasaki, Vice-Director of Innovation Center of NanoMedicine and Dr. Takanori Ichiki, Professor, COINS Theme Leader joined from COI Kawasaki base.
Mr. Hirai, Minister said on SNS “The accumulation of research institutions, companies, etc. is progressing as a bio-base. It is necessary to promote further globalization and make it a place where students and young researchers gather from now on. It is important to create an ecosystem that envy the world”. He expressed high expectations on the establishment of an “innovation ecosystem” that would play a central role in the government's Council for Science, Technology and Innovation.
