On September 17, Dr. Daniel Gonzalez Carter, a researcher at iCONM, won the second prize in the poster presentation at the academic conference “Vancouver Nanomedicine Day” (sponsored by the University of British Columbia, Canada) held online. The presentation title was “Targeting nanoparticles to the brain by exploiting the blood-brain barrier impermeability to selectively label the brain endothelium” based on his research about a novel technology to deliver nanomachines to brain specifically, using a specific biotin-labeling of a protein expressed in the brain endothelium and nanomachines equipped with avidin.
