Self-introduction(自己紹介)：
I am “Aziz Awaad” I am Egyptian, but I lived in Japan for more than 11 years. March 2012, I graduated from School of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, the University Tokushima, Japan. In addition to my work as a researcher in Innovation Center of NanoMedicine (iCONM), Japan, I am also a professor in Sohag University, Egypt.
私は「アジズ・アワード」と申します。エジプト出身ですが、日本には11年以上住んでいます。2012年3月に、徳島大学医学部医学科を卒業しました。現在は、日本のナノ医療イノベーションセンター（iCONM）で研究者として働く傍ら、エジプトのソハーグ大学で教授も務めています。

My life motto and quotes are similar to that of Dr. Magdi Yacoub, He is Egyptian-British retired professor who is an international pioneer in heart transplants and heart disease surgery. This motto says, there are three keys to success, Passion, Persistence, Humbleness (PPH). Passion: I have a strong desire for research and knowledge never end, Persistence: I never give up trying and challenging, Humbleness: Knowledge and science I have is still limited.
私の人生のモットーは、「成功の鍵は情熱・忍耐・謙虚さ（PPH）の3つである」です。これは心臓移植と心臓外科の分野で世界的に有名な、エジプト系イギリス人の名誉教授マグディ・ヤコブ博士のモットーであり、私は彼の考え方に感銘を受けました。

情熱（Passion）：私は研究や知識に対する強い探求心を持っており、それは決して尽きることがありません。
忍耐（Persistence）：私は決して挑戦や努力を諦めません。
謙虚さ（Humbleness）：自分の持つ知識や科学は、まだまだ限られていると常に感じています。

My previous research focused on three themes: Development of nanomedicines which targets age-related diseases, development of nanomedicines for cancer theranostics, and studying nanomedicines toxicity and safety.
私のこれまでの研究は、以下の3つのテーマに焦点を当ててきました。

①加齢に関連する疾患を標的とするナノ医薬品の開発
②がんのセラノスティクス*を目的としたナノ医薬品の開発
③ナノ医薬品の毒性および安全性に関する研究

*セラノスティクス（Theranostics）：治療（Therapeutics）と診断（Diagnostics）を一体化した新しい医療技術

Reason for becoming a researcher(研究者になったきっかけ)：
From my early age, I was fascinated with biological sciences and medical sciences books and knowledge. In 1999, Dr. Ahmed Zwail, the Egyptian Nobel prize winner in chemistry (Femtochemistry), inspired me to be a scientist. In 2000, I got a job as a researcher in Sohag University, Egypt and I am always fascinated with biology, chemistry and medicine.
幼い頃から、生物学や医学の本や知識に強く惹かれてきました。
1999年、エジプト出身でノーベル化学賞（フェムト化学）を受賞したアハメッド・ズウェイル博士に触発され、私は科学者を目指すようになりました。2000年には、エジプトのソハーグ大学で研究者としての仕事に就き、生物学、化学、医学への情熱は今も変わらず持ち続けています。

Your goals(科学者として実現したい夢)：
Through my research field, my main goal is to minimize the side effects and toxicities of drugs especially those related to age-related diseases as well as cancer treatment by improving drug efficacy and minimize the administrated doses.
私の研究分野を通じての主な目標は、特に加齢に関連する疾患やがん治療において、薬の効果を高めながら投与量を最小限に抑え、副作用や毒性をできるだけ減らすことです。

Your hobbies(趣味)：
I like planting, especially long-lived fruit trees, such as palm, fig, and grapes trees. These trees grow and last for about 100 years, giving fruits, shadow and keep our secrets and represent our ages and life activities.
私は植物を育てることが好きで、特にヤシ、イチジク、ブドウのような長寿の果樹を好んで植えています。これらの木は成長し、約100年もの長い間実をつけ、日陰を作り、私たちを見守りながら、私たちが生きる時代と暮らしの変化を物語ってくれます。
