The 16th Cross Cultural Event Held

On April 22, we hosted an online exchange event for foreign researchers and Japanese researchers and staff affiliated with iCONM. This event aimed to effectively utilize the high diversity of iCONM staff, facility users, and representatives from Kawasaki City and the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion.

This time, we had Daníel Óskarsson, an internship fellow student from the University of Iceland, who presented on "Iceland Abridged: A Short Introduction to Iceland's History and Culture." He introduced Iceland's history, culture, stunning natural landscapes, unique volcanic scenery, tourist attractions, and cuisine. At the end, Daníel highlighted some commonalities between Iceland and Japan (such as a love for hot springs and seafood), creating a sense of closeness between the two countries that are geographically distant and vastly different in many aspects. After the presentation, participants shared questions and feedback, making it feel easier to engage with foreign researchers in the future.
