A diagram inspired by the research from iCONM has been featured on the cover of an academic journal.

The academic paper, with Dr. Yuki Mochida (Lecturer, Science Tokyo), Deputy Principal Research Scientist at Uchida Lab in iCONM, as the first author and iCONM Center Director Prof. Kataoka as the corresponding author, has been published in the American Chemical Society journal "Chemistry of Materials," Volume 7 of 2025. The image from the paper graces the cover of this issue.
This paper reports that when the polyamino acid component of block copolymers forming polymeric nanomicelles is poly-L-glutamic acid, the formation of a complex with the platinum-based anticancer drug DACH-Pt leads to the presentation of an α-helix structure, resulting in the formation of disk-like polymeric micelles with a narrow size distribution of about 30 nm. These stable polymeric micelles were found to effectively accumulate in mouse pancreatic cancer, enhancing their antitumor activity.
