Prof. Kazunori Kataoka, Center Director of iCONM, Elected to the Académie nationale de médecine
On January 6, the Académie nationale de médecine elected new members, and Prof. Kazunori Kataoka, Center Director of iCONM, was introduced as one of the honored inductees.He becomes the third Japanese national to be elected to the Academy. Founded in December 1820 by decree of King Louis XVIII, the Académie nationale de médecine remains one of France’s highest-level academic advisory bodies on public health and medicine, providing reports and recommendations on medical and health policy to the government and society.
The induction ceremony was held in the Academy’s historic building, which traces its origins to the former Royal Society of Medicine of France. At the ceremony, Center Director Kataoka stated from the podium:
“It is a great honor for me, as a Japanese national, to be elected to this Academy. I feel a strong sense of responsibility to serve as a bridge between our two countries, and I hope to make further contributions to the advancement of medical engineering.”
Center Director Kataoka was elected in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences within the Biological Sciences Division, in recognition of his expertise in nanomedicine.
