Activities Regarding Conflict of Interest in Industry-Academic-Government Cooperation

When participating in industry-academic-government cooperation, the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion, board members and office staff (hereinafter referred to as “officials”), may be involved in multiple interests - financial or otherwise - and therefore possibly corrupt the motivation of the individual and / or organization.

The Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion has set a “Basic Policy Regarding Conflict of Interest at the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion” and “Regulations for Conflict of Interest Management at the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion” in order to respond adequately to issues of “Conflict of Interest.” Through this, the officials at the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion shall declare their relationship with various industries, and are required to undergo screening by the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion regarding issues of significant conflict of interest that may occur. Implementation of Self Assessment

The Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion carries out a self-assessment regarding conflict of interest management once a year on a regular basis. The timing of the assessment will be announced by the Conflict of Interest Management Committee.

Request for Review

Those who are dissatisfied with the results of the Conflict of Interest Management Committee’s assessment may submit an application of administration review, in writing (once for the same assessment).

After assessment, if a disadvantageous situation of conflict of interest occurs at the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion, the Management Committee or the Advisory Board will investigate and confirm the conflict of interest. As a result, if improvement measures are necessary, then a report regarding improvement measures will be submitted to the Director, and if he / she gives approval to the measures, then they will be implemented.

Consultation regarding conflict of interest is available through the counselor at the Conflict of Interest Consultation Office.

Consultation requests are accepted at any time. Please download the consultation sheet, fill in the necessary information and submit it to the consultation office.
